Lorem Ipsum Generator
Placeholder text in seconds — classic Cicero or modern filler, your call.
How to use the lorem ipsum generator
- Choose how much text you need. A count plus paragraphs, sentences, or words.
- Pick a style. Classic starts with the traditional Cicero passage; modern filler reads like plain draft prose.
- Press Generate. Fresh placeholder text appears instantly with word, character, and reading-time counts.
- Copy or download. Paste it into your mockup, or save it as a .txt file.
Frequently asked questions
What is lorem ipsum?
Placeholder text used in design mockups since the 1960s. It looks like real copy — with natural word lengths and sentence rhythms — so layouts can be judged without readable text distracting the viewer.
Why do designers use placeholder text instead of real copy?
Because readable text pulls the eye: reviewers critique the words instead of the layout. Lorem ipsum keeps attention on spacing, type, and structure until the real copy arrives.
What does the classic text actually say?
It is scrambled Latin from Cicero's 45 BC treatise De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum. The famous opening — Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet — is real Latin mangled just enough to be meaningless.
Can I use the generated text commercially?
Yes. Lorem ipsum carries no copyright concerns and needs no attribution; use it in client work, mockups, and production placeholders freely.
How much text can I generate at once?
Up to 100 paragraphs, sentences, or words per click. Generate repeatedly for longer documents.
